Therapeutic shower procedures are particularly popular in balneological complexes. “Vuoksa” hydrotherapy platform allows making their impact the most effective and most beneficial for the body, and the management of procedures convenient for the doctor. Control of all showers is made from one remote control, and the number of supplied showers is determined by the customer. “Physioteсhniсa” llc offers five main kits of the platform, including jet shower (Charcot), circular shower (“Modern” or “Classic”), rain shower and rising shower. “Extra” and “Optima” models allow additional installation of the Kneipp system - fast change of water temperature in one jet shower.

The main models of “Vuoksa” platform:

- “Vuoksa” “Extra” hydrotherapy platform (two-jet Charcot’s shower, with armrests, “Modern” circular shower with a rain shower, “Classic” circular shower with a rain shower, a rising shower with a lumbar nozzle, the water temperature is regulated with a 1 ¼ thermostat mounted at the control panel, ensures simultaneous operation of all therapeutic showers)

- “Vuoksa” “Optima” hydrotherapy platform (two-jet Charcot’s shower, with armrests, a circular shower, a rain shower, a rising shower with a lumbar nozzle, the water temperature is regulated with a ¾ thermostat mounted at the control panel)

- “Vuoksa” “Standard” hydrotherapy platform (two-jet Charcot’s shower, with armrests, a circular shower, a rain shower, a rising shower with a lumbar nozzle)

- “Vuoksa” “Economy” hydrotherapy platform (one-jet Charcot’s shower, a circular shower, a rain shower, a rising shower with a lumbar nozzle)

- “Vuoksa” “Wall panel” hydrotherapy platform (water temperature is regulated with a thermostat, a jet shower, a circular shower, a rain shower, a rising shower with a lumbar nozzle)

- Kneipp system for the platform (only for “Optima” and “Extra” models) - fast change of water temperature in one jet shower

Administration of procedures:

Jet shower (Charcot)

The patient is standing at a distance of 3-4 m from the shower platform. A jet of water is directed to the patient's body from the bottom up: first by a fan jet, and then by a compact jet under pressure of 2-3 atm. The abdomen is massaged at a pressure of 1.5 atm in circular movements clockwise. This procedure allows improvement of the blood circulation of the body surface, has an effect on the muscles, has a positive effect on the central nervous system and metabolism in the body.

Charkot’s shower jet and its variety, Scottish (contrast) shower, are used:

  • to increase muscle tonus,
  • to reduce the thickness of the fat layer (including cellulite),
  • for spine osteochondrosis and primary osteoarthritis of large joints,
  • for complex therapy of neuroses, neurasthenic states, neurocirculatory dystonia, I-II degree arterial hypertension,
  • for neurogenic forms of impotence,
  • for insomnia,
  • for treatment of constipation associated with decreased bowel tonus,
  • with lumbar muscle myositis, lumbosacral radiculitis,
  • for unstable vessel tonus
  • for chronic fatigue syndrome
  • as well as a physioprophylaxis method.

Scottish (contrast) shower:

The patient's body is alternately affected several times by two jets of water: hot 37°C-45°C and cold 20°C-10°C. This shower has a tonic effect, improves blood supply and tissue trophicity, increases immunity.

Circular shower:

Allows performing a point massage of the patient's entire body. In case of correct choice of water temperature using mixers located at the platform, the shower has an exciting effect on the central nervous system, improves blood supply of the skin. The optimal pressure for this procedure is 1.5 atm. The water temperature is gradually lowered from 36°C in the first procedures to 25°C by the end of treatment.

Rain shower:

The procedure has a tonic effect, improves blood supply of the scalp.

Rising shower:

Designed for massage, therapeutic and cleaning procedures, which are provided to a sitting patient. Water jets through the mesh tip under pressure are directed to the patient's perineum. Shower is equipped with a lumbar massage nozzle. The doctor independently determines the temperature and pressure of the water, depending on the type of disease, gender and bodily constitution of the patient. The rising shower is indicated in gynecological diseases (menstrual disorders, infertility, chronic inflammation), urological pathologies (enuresis in children, hemorrhoids, prostatitis, chronic constipation, impotence), lumbosacral radiculitis, etc. The rising shower is used in treatment of pelvic organs. This procedure perfectly stimulates blood circulation, strengthens pelvic muscles, helps neutralize inflammation foci.

The entire structure of the circular showers, the metal guides of the jet shower and the frame of the rising shower are made of certified high quality stainless steel designed for use in water supply systems, food processing and medicine.

The working pressure and water flow of each therapeutic procedure is regulated by a pressure gauge and a corresponding water tap. The required pressure in the supply pipelines is 5-6 atm.

In case of insufficient or unstable pressure in the network pipeline, “Physiotechnica” company offers a pumping station as auxiliary equipment to increase water pressure.

The body of the control panel of “Vuoksa” hydrotherapy platform can be made in any color according to the RAL palette, which allows to satisfy various requirements of the author's design. The standard colors of the basic equipment are blue (RAL 5012) or white (RAL 9003).

For convenience of the patient during the procedure and protection of the wall covering of the treatment room, “Physiotechnica” company recommends a repulse screen for Charcot’s shower with a horizontal handrail made out of stainless steel, as well as curtains for the circular shower.
